Micah, the musician.

It is amazing what a difference clothing makes for portraits.

I did a portrait session with Micah today, and quite frankly, he rocked! This was my best photo shoot ever. Micah was a total natural, was quick to look great, and was very receptive to poses.

Micah was a natural. His smile was great, right away! I got up on top of a ladder and shot down, using the whitish snow as a backdrop. Interesting perspective, didn’t like it as much as I thought I would. I tried getting down in the snow, really liked it, but man, it was cold! I ended up putting him against this old green barn, and loved the results! The contrast with the red shirt and green barn worked perfectly! I like the serious expression Micah has in this pose, with the blurred instrument adding context.

I took the time to make sure he got dressed appropriately, and it made a big difference. Not only did he look better, but I think the clothing helped him mentally play the part. I’m going to have to make sure that I review clothing choices with clients in the future.
