This was actually from yesterday evening; I was walking to the car when I noticed the light streaming in the garage door. Always drawn by interesting light, I followed it outside and was struck by the sun’s beams gliding over the saddles sitting on the hitching post. With the sun coming in strong and very directional backlighting, this was a very tricky exposure situation. I used the spot metering setting on my camera and metered the grass (which is close to middle toned).
I also love this photo because it reminds me of the great time I had horseback riding yesterday with Tim—for almost two hours! Of course, I am quite sore today but it was worth it. NOTHING comes close to the exhilaration of running on a horse.

I am a single 20-something young man, in pursuit of knowing Christ and being known by Him. I serve as a ministry leader, work as a paramedic, and live as an adventurer.
That is a gorgeous picture. I love horseback riding too; I haven’t done it forever though.
You’re such a lucky guy! Get to visit the Heberts and get such gorgeous shots on top of that! I really love the lighting in this pic! Beautiful work!
