Let’s start with the basics: My name is Samuel Kordik. I am a twenty-two year old single man, living in Texas, working as a paramedic, serving with a wonderful ministry, and living an adventurous life.
This site represents a collection of stories, thoughts, discoveries, and photos from my life. I love writing, taking pictures, and sharing knowledge with others, and this site allows me to do just that.
Who is Samuel Kordik?
I am a twenty-two years old guy, the firstborn of six children born to my loving parents, Mary Ellen and Steve. I grew up in Wisconsin. I’m currently living in Texas, and I am currently single (although I’m hoping and praying that will change soon!)
Education
I graduated from high school in 2004, then attended the ALERT Academy from 2005 through 2007, taking courses in Emergency Response and getting certifications in Firefighting, Hazardous Materials Operations, Disaster Response, EMT-Paramedic, various technical rescue disciplines, Incident Management, and Special Response Diving (Police SCUBA). I am currently enrolled at Excelsior College working towards an Associates Degree in Nursing.
Work
For the last year, I’ve worked as a lead paramedic on an MICU ambulance in East Texas. I find this job very fulfilling, and look forward to coming to work. I absolutely love what I do—the variety, the adventure (when I clock in, I have no clue what the day holds), the challenge, and of course the adrenaline. For me, the combination of helping people out and working in an “extreme”, emergency environment is very rewarding.
Ministry
For the past several years, I have served in various capacities at the International ALERT Academy. My goal is to use my God-given strengths to serve people at and through ALERT. In the past this has included working as a staff photographer, running videography, working in graphic arts, and helping out with audio/visual. I currently support the graphic arts and web design needs, while focusing primarily on my role as the Program Coordinator for Quest. Of everything I do right now, Quest is the most important.
Mission
In a nutshell, my mission is:
“Challenging the next generation to be captured by a passion to delight in Christ and to connect them with there purpose in the Kingdom of God.”
I go into much more detail on the Mission page.
